Questioning without Expecting Answers
Dear Heart,
When one begins to sense the futility of chasing happiness in the outer things of the world and the inner conflict that arises out of such a path but does not completely sink into apathy, one becomes a seeker, determined to find out what life is all about. Such a seeker is full of questions about life’s ways so as to find answers that would lead him to the true nature of his being. But when this questioning itself comes from the urge to not know the answer, there comes the end of resisting: in this utter openness of the Heart, an unknown beauty — a direct understanding of life that is not graspable by the mind — is revealed.
When one persists in following the inner urge and begins to attend the satsangs regularly with an open Heart, it becomes clear that seeking is a clever disguise of the mind to avoid facing the discomfort of not having control over life. A new way of listening and seeing thus surfaces and there is a closer look at the questioner — the me — who wants to know the answers, who wants to be loving, and who wants to live in peace.
What is revealed is shocking, yet relieving and merciful, for it is seen that the me who wants to be at peace and loving is the very obstacle to peace and love. The mind (me) is itself the resistance and the bars of the prison cell.
Leowe will not compromise in engaging the mind or give practices or techniques to pacify it. Each being in the sangha has felt and witnessed the sharp sword of Truth in his words cutting through the unconsciousness patterns and stories of the mind. And when there is hesitation to speak of the doubts in the mind and to hide the shame, guilt, or fear of loosing the familiar sense of security, Leowe invites each one to remain in this place of uncertainty, not knowing what to do, rather than to escape into new beliefs and ways of seeking.
Satsangs are thus a stop from distractions offered by the mind, for one can observe the burden of not being true to their real Self and with no judgment, witness the person one has become, carrying the burden of duties as a business man, a mother, father, wife, son, daughter, a seeker to be somebody. Satsangs serve as the sacred space where one can gather the courage to face the hidden fear of true seeing, to deepen the process of looking at the attachments that are holding one back, and to let go of the belief that one needs more time to merge with the Heart.
It is a precious gift to be in satsang in the Presence of an uncompromising teacher; the voice of his Heart comes through tirelessly and invites each being to be in silence and see for themselves that ultimately there is nothing to gain but much to see and to relinquish all that is seen to be false.
May the listening to what arises in satsang serve to remove the blinds of illusion that bind the Heart and may the clear seeing begin, for only in clarity, the questioner begins to dissolve.
Each being longing to return to the joy, compassion, and love of the Heart is truly welcome to the satsangs.
In loving care,
Leowe & the Heart is Home Movement
