What is it like to be a sangha member and to work closely with a Guru?
(Part 2)

Dear Heart,
However, if one has opened up to enough grace, one realises that this is not about the Guru or the sangha. Nor about the seemingly endless unconscious patterns that the Guru points to and the searing pain this leads to. But that in truth, it is about one’s devotion to letting go of one’s identification with the ego and dissolving into God. For painful though it sometimes seems, to what can one go back to? What awaits in the so-called normal life of a person but suffering? Where one needs endless distractions to keep oneself from feeling suffocated by the lack of peace and fulfillment. Where one just runs unconsciously towards one’s own misery, frailty, and death. Sincere seekers become sincere because they cannot bear to lead another moment of such an unconscious, fake life anymore. So where could they go when they leave this path of the Heart?
When this realisation dawns – which in itself is grace at work – one cannot leave. The Guru. The sangha. And this path to God. One then begins to remain alert to the conditionings that the Guru is pointing to – and the feelings they stir within – and to persist on their path to the Truth with devotion. And slowly, slowly, the flowering of one’s consciousness will inevitably lead to lessening of one’s pain, for there is lessening of one’s identification with the ego and the Heart begins to open more and more to receive grace. And this openness to receiving grace is all that’s needed to dissolve into God.
When one joins the sangha, it is usual to feel gratitude to be able to offer one’s services to the Guru and his work, but as deepening of Presence takes place within one’s Being, one realises that this service is not for the Guru or his work, for the Guru does not need anything from anyone. Serving a real Guru is serving oneself to flower and be the Life and Light that one is.
We the sangha are grateful to have found a living Guru and for being part of the Heart is Home Movement at its initial stages. For along our service to the Movement, the work within ourselves is intense but so is the gratification of loosening as a person.
